Finance Manager, North America Headcount Center of Excellence
About the role
The North America Center of Excellence (HCE) team supports headcount and cost-related activities for all roles within NA Operations across multiple logistics and fulfillment businesses. This finance team partners with the business to support rapid expansion while continuing to deliver exceptional customer experiences. As a Finance Manager, you will help build one of the largest networks on the planet, engaging with executive leadership and growing your skills across complex organizations. The role involves direct support of business and finance stakeholders in North America and other countries, owning resource staffing models, reporting, headcount decisions, standardization, automation, and planning.
You will design, develop, and maintain performance measurements to drive strategy on resource deployment and continuously improve business economics. The successful candidate demonstrates the ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment, and collaborate across Amazon’s business units with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Identifies basic control risks, evaluates impact, proposes changes, and implements process improvement frameworks to remediate gaps.
- Contributes to weekly/monthly financial close processes, including plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
- Uses active listening skills to communicate data (written and verbal) clearly, concisely, and unambiguously.
- Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
- Makes independent time management decisions, prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback.
- Discerns between urgent and non-urgent issues and acts accordingly to solve them.
- Interacts with a variety of data sources to assess incomplete or inaccurate data, drives scalable mechanisms to understand root causes, escalates discrepancies, and partners to deliver solutions.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
Qualifications
- MBA or CPA (preferred).
- 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans.
- 6+ years of experience solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with proven business impact (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
Pay
Base salary range: $95,400.00 – $163,200.00 USD annually (Bellevue, WA). The total compensation package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
