The AWS EBS Finance team seeks a world-class Finance Manager to be a key leader supporting Elastic Block Store (EBS), one of AWS's largest services.
About the role
At AWS, finance leaders are strategic business partners and trusted advisors who influence multi-billion-dollar investment decisions, evaluate the economics of new services and regions, structure complex enterprise deals, optimize go-to-market strategies, and drive financial discipline. This role requires a self-starter with strong financial modeling, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. You will partner directly with engineering, product, sales, and operations leaders to shape long-term growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Build financial models that inform multi-billion-dollar decisions across infrastructure expansion, new product launches, regional rollouts, and enterprise deal structures.
- Partner directly with senior business leaders as a trusted advisor on investment priorities, resource allocation, and long-term growth strategy.
- Develop and present insights to senior leadership through business reviews, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Focus on the "why" and "what can we do about it" beyond just reporting "what happened."
- Influence long-term business strategy by aligning financial and operational analyses with business partners, challenging assumptions, and providing data-driven recommendations.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, sales, and operations teams to translate business priorities into financial frameworks.
- Identify and quantify risks and opportunities, proactively surfacing trends and anomalies.
- Drive operational excellence and controllership, utilizing automation and AI-powered tools to enhance financial processes and accelerate decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process and systems improvements, including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- 5+ years of experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role (e.g., engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).
- 5+ years of experience dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
- 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans.
- 6+ years of experience solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that impact business outcomes (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
- MBA or CPA.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

Pay
USA, WA, Seattle - $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
