About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Finance seeks a Finance Manager to support the Startup Sales organizations. This role provides leadership and strategic support including key project analyses, metrics development and reporting, and planning and forecasting. The successful candidate will be able to think strategically, tactically, and analytically, and will influence senior business leaders through effective communication, financial analysis, logical reasoning, and presentation of alternatives. Responsibilities include developing tools and instrumentation to address business opportunities, creating analytics to measure strategy effectiveness, and setting strategy, direction, and prioritization for the team. The role requires a self-starter who operates with significant autonomy while supporting senior business leaders and delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels and lead teams to define and deliver solutions.
  • Drive business reviews and create mechanisms that promote accountability and high standards.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical and process constraints.
  • Foster constructive and proactive communication across organizational boundaries.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience.
  • 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience.
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience.
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

Pay

Base salary ranges by location:

  • USA, CA, San Francisco: $104,900.00 – $179,500.00 USD annually
  • USA, NY, New York: $104,900.00 – $179,500.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $95,400.00 – $163,200.00 USD annually
