Finance Leadership Program Intern - Summer 2027
About The Role
McKesson's Finance Leadership Program (FLP) Internship is a 10-week summer experience designed to develop future finance leaders through meaningful project work, executive exposure, and enterprise-wide learning opportunities. As an FLP Intern, you will partner with finance leaders and cross-functional teams to analyze business challenges, support strategic initiatives, and deliver recommendations that influence business decisions. Throughout the program, you will gain exposure to financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, strategy, forecasting, pricing, and business analytics while building leadership skills in a Fortune 10 healthcare company. At the conclusion of the internship, interns will present their findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
What You'll Do
- Analyze financial performance, business trends, and strategic opportunities across the organization.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning initiatives using data-driven insights.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, capital allocation decisions, and financial performance metrics.
- Research healthcare and pharmacy industry trends to identify risks, opportunities, and growth strategies.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to support executive decision-making.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for senior finance leaders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Strategy, and Commercial teams.
- Present project outcomes and recommendations to senior leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
Basic Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an MBA program with an expected graduation date after Summer 2027.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
- Prior professional experience in finance, accounting, consulting, banking, corporate strategy, business analytics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated through academic or professional experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Leadership experience through work, military service, student organizations, athletics, or community involvement.
- Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, or business analysis.
- Knowledge of FP&A, corporate finance, valuation, strategic planning, or healthcare finance principles.
- Strong written, verbal, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex information effectively.
- Experience utilizing data visualization or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
Work Environment & Location
This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
