Role Overview
The Finance and Accounting Summer Intern program at New York Life offers a dynamic internship experience designed to equip you with valuable skills and a network for your future career. Interns will gain hands-on experience, receive continuous training, and connect with senior management and other interns.
What You’ll Do
- Skills Development: Training classes in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and insurance and financial services industry concepts.
- Weekly Seminars: Presentations by experienced professionals covering industry, financial functions, and the organization.
- Mentorship: Pairing with a full-time Finance employee for guidance and support.
- Exposure to Senior Leadership: Opportunities to meet and interact with the Senior Finance Leadership Team.
- Presentations: Formal presentations about your experience, projects, and assignments at the end of the summer.
- Social Events: Participation in various social events and networking opportunities.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with generative AI.
- Analytical mindset.
- Intellectually curious.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Rising juniors with a Bachelor’s degree or Graduate program.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Pay and Benefits
Competitive pay, the option of free housing, and an annual discretionary bonus are provided. Employees may also be eligible for an incentive program and an annual discretionary bonus. Base salary is determined based on several factors including individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.
