Position Description
This position serves as a key strategic and financial partner to business leadership, responsible for leading segment-level financial reporting, analysis, and planning. This financial leader will own standardized financial reporting tools and processes, drive decisions that impact profitability and long-term growth, and translate detailed analyses into Board-level business insights. The role involves directing core financial planning functions, overseeing capital expenditure, and working capital management, and leading a high-performing team of finance professionals in a global manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the segment’s profit and loss (P&L), balance sheet and cash flow forecast processes, including annual budgeting and long-range financial planning.
- Analyze and communicate segment results, performance trends and KPIs, translating insights into actionable recommendations for management and segment leadership.
- Prepare, consolidate, and submit standardized financial outputs.
- Provide 80/20 financial support, including oversight of financial statements, data analytics, target setting, and performance tracking.
- Support the segment President and VP-Finance with ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and insights. Serve as a key resource to the vertical finance teams.
- Prepare the financial analysis and evaluation of significant new investment opportunities, including capital expenditures and restructuring, by performing feasibility studies and risk-adjusted return analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and drive the effective use of standardized financial reporting tools, processes, and systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion/HFM, BI).
- Lead initiatives to enhance FP&A processes for improved efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Facilitate segment deliverables to Corporate Accounting, including support for internal/external audits and SEC disclosures.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team by attracting and retaining top talent, while instilling a culture of accountability, leadership, and continuous improvement aligned with the 80/20 operating model.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 10+ years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferable in a global environment
- Strong skillsets in areas of financial analysis, forecasting, and communication of business results
- Hands-on system experience with an integrated ERP system and a global consolidation system
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- MBA/CPA/CMA Certifications a plus
- Travel: 5% – 15%
