Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are recruiting a Finance Business Partner for a rapidly growing company in the RTP/Durham area. This role blends accounting, financial analysis, and operational finance, serving as the primary finance partner for a dynamic business unit. You will work directly with Operations to ensure financial information is accurate and timely, while helping improve processes, strengthen reporting, and support continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner supporting an operational business unit and its leadership team.
• Own key portions of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Partner with operations to analyze revenue, margins, operating expenses, inventory activity, and other key business metrics.
• Aid with budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning activities.
• Review transactional data for completeness and accuracy while identifying trends and business insights.
• Support billing, vendor activity, reimbursements, and other operational finance processes.
• Prepare financial reporting packages and communicate results to both finance and operational leadership.
• Help identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reporting, and strengthen internal controls through technology and AI-enabled tools.
• Collaborate across accounting, finance, and operations to improve efficiency as the business continues to expand.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, financial analysis, or a combination of both.
• Experience supporting business operations, field teams, manufacturing, distribution, retail, project-based, or other operational environments is highly valued.
