Finance Business Partner

Robert Half is partnering with a leading specialty manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Site Controller to support its growing operations in the Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance detail oriented to take ownership of site-level financial performance, strengthen financial controls, and partner closely with operational leadership to drive business results. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and financial analysis, along with advanced SAP expertise and the ability to turn financial data into actionable business insights. Key Responsibilities Oversee financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls for a manufacturing facility. Lead month-end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis. Manage cost accounting functions, including standard costing, overhead absorption, and manufacturing cost variances. Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, stock reporting, and inventory provisions. Analyze production costs, margins, overhead, and operational performance to identify risks and improvement opportunities. Partner with site leadership and operational teams to support business decisions, financial planning, and performance improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, cost controls, and operational efficiency. Support capital expenditure requests, business cases, and internal and external audits. Leverage SAP to analyze financial and operational data and provide meaningful insights to business stakeholders. Investigate financial discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive solutions independently. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Significant experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or a similar financial leadership role. Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Hands-on experience with standard costing, overhead absorption, manufacturing variances, and inventory accounting. Advanced SAP proficiency is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and recommend corrective actions. Proven ability to partner with operational leaders, communicate financial information clearly, and influence business decisions. A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to take ownership and continuously improve processes.
