Finance/Accounting Manager

Role Responsibilities

• Affirms and establishes proper accounting controls and procedures in compliance with regulatory accounting requirements.
• Leverages expertise and a proven track record in the Great Plains environment to manage the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reporting.
• Supervises daily operations of the accounting department, overseeing areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Operational Accounting.
• Maintains accounts and records of disbursements and expenses, and coordinates with management and operations teams to develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and information flow.
• Works with department managers, corporate staff, and external customers to develop and implement key business processes and appropriate controls.
• Assists with financial audits and follows through on recommendations for the ongoing improvement of procedures and controls.
• Ensures key policies and procedures are documented to meet internal controls and audit requirements.
• Supervises Accounting staff, including performance management, time keeping, counseling, and training.

Requirements

• Proven history of managing key financial functions, including the management of a department.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with at least 4 years of related experience as an Accounting or Billing Manager leading a department.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Great Plains accounting software.
• Understanding of a manufacturing environment and the integration of the accounting department into the organization.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
