Finance Accounting Business Analyst

Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst for its Finance, Inventory, & Raw Materials team to work with NBT teammates and other partners to align, optimize, and deliver a fully functional ERP/MES solution to Nucor's Sheet, Plate and Structural Mills. Responsibilities

• Facilitating discussions between divisions and partners to develop aligned business processes
• Performing gap analysis and documenting comprehensive business requirements, such as process flows, business rules, interface design, data analysis and data mapping in collaboration with subject matter experts and IT stakeholders
• Solution design: define design options, analyze potential value, recommend solutions, specify and model requirements
• Understanding raw-material costing and valuation, including purchase price, freight, consumption, and inventory adjustments
• Working with Purchasing, Operations, Finance/AP, Inventory, and IT when transactions do not flow correctly
• Understanding month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting financial analyses to help support the divisions
• Have an understanding of General Ledger accounting principles and financial reporting processes
• Support division internal and external audits by assisting with audit requests, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or a finance-related role (public or corporate accounting experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting standards

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, CPA, or CMA
• Public or corporate accounting experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Oracle EBS and/or PSI

Schedule

Full-time position based in Irving, TX. Project-related overnight travel as needed, up to 70%.
