Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Final Test Technician for a reputable local manufacturing client in Kalispell. This hands-on role is responsible for testing and validating complex equipment before shipment, ensuring all systems meet quality, safety, and customer specifications. This position is ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, PLC, and automation systems who enjoys problem-solving and working with advanced equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test completed equipment prior to shipment to ensure quality and customer requirements are met
  • Configure electrical components, firmware, and communication settings
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, PLC, and software issues
  • Verify safety systems (EPOs, interlocks, alarms) are fully operational
  • Teach and calibrate robotic systems for automated operation
  • Test valves, pumps, fluid flow systems, automation functions, and customer recipes
  • Perform final quality audits on completed machines
  • Document issues and collaborate with Engineering and Production teams
  • Assist with customer inspections and demonstrate machine functionality
  • Promote workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience building, testing, or troubleshooting electromechanical equipment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with PLC-controlled systems and testing
  • Experience establishing communication between PCs and industrial equipment
  • Computer proficiency (Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel)
  • Knowledge of communication protocols
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, trade school, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders
  • Use hand tools and perform fine motor tasks
  • Work around machinery, electrical systems, and manufacturing equipment
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines
  • Work in a safety-focused culture
  • Occasional travel may be required
