Final Test Technician (aerospace)
About the Role
A Final Test Technician is responsible for executing test procedures, collecting data, and maintaining test equipment to support product quality assurance. This role involves conducting tests and inspections to evaluate the quality and performance of products and equipment, interpreting quality standards, engineering diagrams, and product specifications, and executing tests accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and micrometers.
- Read and understand test procedures, and learn to use custom test equipment.
- Test all subassemblies and final systems to ensure compliance with system specifications.
- Identify test equipment that is damaged or malfunctioning through required tracking and build documentation, following approved methods.
- Ensure all products manufactured meet or exceed established quality standards prior to shipping.
- Understand and adhere to schedule requirements.
- Maintain equipment in a clean and safe manner.
- Maintain test support equipment.
- Follow safety protocols.
- Work with minimal supervision, both independently and within teams.
- Identify parts that do not align or fit correctly, cosmetic defects, and procedure errors.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent training.
- Military experience is a plus.
- Precision Measurement and Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) experience highly desired.
- Calibrations Tech experience helpful.
- Ability to adapt shift times, provide overtime coverage, and work night shifts.
- Must take ownership of the systems being tested.
- Knowledge of engineering and product design is helpful.
- A good eye for detail and the ability to think creatively.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:
- Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Talk or hear, and smell.
- Lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Corrective lens eyewear is acceptable.
