About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Radiographic Technician to join our Final Inspection team. This role performs radiographic (X-ray) inspection of aluminum castings to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer specifications. It is a critical position responsible for identifying defects and maintaining the highest level of product integrity.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic (X-ray) inspection of castings per written instructions and specifications
- Arrange castings on film cassettes with required identification and penetrant markers
- Process and interpret X-ray film according to company and customer standards
- Accept or reject castings based on inspection results
- Follow sampling plans and all applicable work instructions
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and inspection symbols
- Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and documentation
- Report deviations or quality concerns to Quality leadership
- Safeguard inspection stamps and maintain traceability
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete required safety trainings (HazMat, Lockout/Tagout, etc.)
- Replenish X-ray film processor solutions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain Level II Radiographic Testing (RT) certification within 12 months
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret inspection standards
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Good recordkeeping and documentation skills
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety requirements
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in radiographic (X-ray) inspection or NDT
- Familiarity with aluminum castings or aerospace/industrial manufacturing
- Exposure to quality systems and inspection specifications
Physical & Visual Requirements
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the job (standing, handling materials, etc.)
- Near vision of 20/25 (correctable)
- Must not be color blind
Work Environment
- Clean, controlled inspection environment
- Minimal noise and contaminants
- Use of radiographic inspection equipment and related materials
Training & Development
- Work under guidance of NDT Level III and Quality Assurance team
- Structured pathway to achieve Level II RT certification
- Ongoing training in safety and quality standards
