Job Summary
The Customs Final Inspector is responsible for assuring custom parts and components meet specifications, ensuring no missing parts, and moving components to the next phase of processing.
Job Duties
- Prioritizes work based on Move Ahead Report and date of shipping.
- Receives parts and components for panels, drawers, frames, and sides of cabinets.
- Tracks down missing parts, interacts with Panel Doors, Frames, and Customs to assure that all parts are accounted for.
- Inspects all parts to assure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Maintains working knowledge of all cabinets, cabinet component parts, etc. for all cabinet lines.
- Writes up green slips for missing component parts.
- Completes Buffer Report daily documenting completed jobs and any discrepancies.
- Sands and puts up defects as needed.
- Stages cabinets for Sanding Machine Operator in Paint Department.
- Reroutes remade parts to the Paint Department.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the various wood species and can differentiate between them.
- Makes fundamental mathematical calculations and reads measurement devices, i.e. tape measure, etc.
- Fills in other areas as needed.
