Performs Final Cosmetic Inspections (FCI) on completed cabinets, seats, and aircraft to assure complete customer satisfaction with the quality of the delivered product. Performs follow-up inspections to ensure discrepancies identified during the initial FCI Inspection are corrected. Communicates with all the various back shops to identify and resolve reoccurring discrepancies identified during FCI Inspections. When required, works with outside vendors to ensure quality of their product meets Falcon standards. Interfaces with customers, Customer Completions Administrator (CCA), and support shops to understand and coordinate the resolution of quality issues across all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the FCI Inspection on ground or in flight and follow up with corrected discrepancies.
  • Verify conformity of interior and exterior items related to cosmetics rework issues.
  • Read and interpret specs, drawings, and CATIA data to ensure customer requirements are accomplished.
  • Update cosmetic inspection checklist from issues found during inspection and in the field.
  • Maintain quality charts representing quality metrics.
  • Ensure conformity and cosmetic aspects are in accordance with FAR/DGQT / Dassault Falcon cosmetic criteria.
  • Act as advisor in support of CCA during the delivery process for customer concerns.
  • Document and resolve cosmetic-related problems encountered by customers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with interfacing departments to ensure cosmetic discrepancies are understood and corrected properly.
  • Support corporate mission and vision through achievement of department goals and objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of aircraft production experience with a strong background in cosmetic criteria and principles, or preferably an A&P Certificate.
  • Three (3) years of experience in cabinet final assembly, cabinet finish application, upholstery completion, aircraft interior installation, or inspection.
  • Familiarity with Dassault Falcon Jet Corp’s production processes and support shops including cabinetry, carpet, upholstery, paint, and quality control.
  • Working knowledge of quality inspection processes and procedures.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to remain positive and maintain a congenial manner in stressful situations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pro-active, team-oriented, and capable of working independently to solve quality issues.
  • Able to walk between various shop areas, climb stairs, and move safely about the factory floor, offices, and onboard aircraft with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Pass vision testing: minimum 20/20 corrected, with no limitations in color perception.
  • Able to fly during test flights for several hours at a time and perform in-flight inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical aircraft experience in maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of back shop technology (paint, cabinet shop, upholstery, supply, and quality control).
  • A&P Certificate.
  • Degree in Aircraft Operational Systems or a related field.

Working Conditions

  • Able to perform inspection activities during all test flight regimes, including turbulence.
  • Must not be sensitive to exposure to chemicals, noise, and dust levels set by OSHA that are frequently encountered in an aircraft manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work various shifts and weekends.
  • Able to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Willing to travel when required.
  • This position is designated as safety-sensitive; requires constant alertness and concentration for long periods while performing safety activities.

Pay

The compensation for this position typically falls between $26.00 and $33.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime and may be eligible for shift differential.
