Responsibilities
- Lead and support final assembly department team members in daily operations.
- Serve as the primary resource for final assembly-related questions and troubleshooting.
- Review daily and weekly goals during daily production stand-up meetings.
- Discuss department goals and performance during weekly production meetings.
- Provide regular feedback to supervisors regarding employee performance, strengths, development opportunities, and training needs.
- Aid in onboarding and training new team members.
- Maintain department workflow to ensure continuous throughput and efficient production.
- Monitor work order schedules and communicate deadlines to team members.
- Proactively identify potential delays and notify supervisors when deadlines may be at risk.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth project flow and timely completion of work.
- Ensure proper operation, care, and maintenance of department equipment.
- Identify equipment repair, replacement, or upgrade needs and communicate recommendations to management.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of final assembly materials and supplies.
- Aid in managing material usage and replenishment needs.
- Maintain product quality and address quality concerns promptly.
- Ensure team members follow established safety procedures and company policies.
- Identify and report production, equipment, or process issues.
- Test and document new products, equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cabinetry, woodworking, manufacturing, or a related production environment preferred.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Working knowledge of production processes, hardware installation, and quality standards.
- Ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality craftsmanship.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate department equipment and tools.
