Job Summary
As a Final Assembly Worker, you will be responsible for locating, retrieving, and assembling parts onto coolers according to work order instructions. Once assembly is complete, you will prepare the coolers for shipment by moving them to a skid and preparing them for the Shipping department.
Requirements
- 1 Year Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required, prior experience in Assembly is preferred.
- Read and understand the work instruction list and print off the related blueprints.
- Ability to read, write and understand detailed blueprint instructions.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Ability to use basic computer programs.
- Basic math skills and ability to use and understand measuring tools.
- Excellent attention to detail.

- Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities
- Inspect the quality of the coolers, and use corrective tools to make any necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Locate and retrieve parts needed for assembly.
- Manually, or with the assistance of a chain hoist, move the cooling package to the work area.
- Assemble and attach parts to the cooling package according to the blueprint instructions.
- Move the completed cooling package from the work area to the appropriate skid, stacking them with wood or cardboard spacers.
- Document the assembly process and place a label on the cooling package indicating completion.
- Use a saw, as needed, to cut plywood and build skids.
- Meet production quotas set by the Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of various parts used in the Final Assembly department.
- Report any issues to the Supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and requirements set forth in AKG’s environmental management system (EMS).
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit (20%), walk (45%), and stand (35%) of the time. May also be required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist, and turn.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs (30%) of the time.
- Must be able to use a chain hoist, pallet jack, saw, power tools, and basic mechanic tools.
- Must wear required safety equipment such as steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
