Field Welder - 70 Mile Radius

Field Welder position within a 70-mile radius of Quakertown, PA, focused on producing welds to support the installation of exterior and interior wall panels for commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Perform welds using stick and MIG processes in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Maneuver units into position for installation and anchor the units.
• Fabricate or alter parts using shears, hammers, punches, or drills.
• Assist foreman with proper layout for work to be put in place.
• Accurately measure and read height, width, length, and other proportions with a tape measure.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and lasers to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Work at heights with several elevated platforms.
• Keep work area clean and productive.
• Always exercise the proper use of PPE.
• Set up and safely use company equipment.
• Maintain welding certification through maintenance logs and supervisor observation.

Requirements

• Current AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G and AWS D1.1 SMAW 4G certifications (AWS D1.5 SMAW 3G and 4G preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ year experience with stick welding.
• Field carpentry experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of construction safety devices and PPE.
