This position protects the integrity of the Zaxby's brand through precise knowledge and training of the operating system at new restaurant openings. Essential Job Functions Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following: Assist with communication, execution, and implementation of new store opening training for store level employeesFollow training schedule and effectively complete all training activities for new store openings in accordance with Brand standardsTrain store employees in operational procedures and Brand standards in settings such as classroom, hands-on, and shoulder-to-shoulderAssist in facilitating vendor relationships during grand opening training and first week of businessCommunicate and set training and operational goals with franchisee, management team and team members to achieve a high level of staff performanceLearn documentation process to create opening summary with detailed and comprehensive reports, analysis, and evaluation of restaurant training and operationsParticipate in regular meetings with franchisee and management teams to strategize and problem solve throughout store opening processCoach store management and employees to improve knowledge and performance while on the jobAdhere to urgent schedules and time lines for opening training and documentationConduct field training at existing restaurants and observe post opening visits as necessary and depending on store needsAble to solve relatively simple problems by making prudent decisions that are timely and well researched with awareness of how the result could impact the brandAssist other ZFL Departments with projects and assignments when needed and approved by Restaurant Openings and Training ManagerFacilitate in-store training for the onboarding process of ZFL new employees as it relates to store operational proceduresImplementation of company standards, procedures and operation of new and existing restaurants by serving as the Ambassador for Zaxby’s brand, culture and valuesEvaluate, develop and improve on departmental standards by offering fresh perspectives and new ideasChooses the appropriate communication approach (e.g., directive, supportive, coaching, collaborative) based on the situation and the existing relationshipActs as an advocate between ZFL and Franchisee including recommends and coordinates the assistance of corporate support staff and peers to optimize business results, when appropriate (e.g. design and construction, Training, ODI, HR, Menu Innovation, Marketing, IT)Builds rapport and maintains open lines of communication with peers, Franchisee, Openings Consultant, and Field Operations Manager; manages conflict respectfullyContributes to openings follow-up action plan creation with FTS, and supports execution of action plan in stores KEY COMPETENCIES Must be ServSafe Certified prior to conducting first store opening and maintain current knowledge of applicable federal workplace health and safety regulationsAble to travel frequently with extended overnight stays out of town (1- 11 consecutive days); approximately 75% travel around the Southeast and Midwest United StatesTraining and facilitation skills required; experience preferredSelf-motivated and drivenMaintain flexibility and adapt to changing conditions.Must possess strong negotiation and persuasion skillsMust have strong time-management skillsWork in a fast-paced environmentDeal with multiple prioritiesWork well within a teamComplete work with many interruptionsCommunicate in writing and verbally with tact, patience and courtesyBasic knowledge of MS office suitePerform basic math functions quickly and accuratelyMust have the ability to train and execute system standards and procedures Education And Experience Guidelines Education: Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and in-depth industry and job specific skills acquired through restaurant management and training experienceExperience: Up to 3+ years of restaurant management and training experience Zaxby’s Franchising LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in employment decisions based on any factor protected by federal, state, or local law.
