Field Testing Specialist

About the role

Join Vylor as a Field Testing Specialist based in York, Nebraska. This 100% site-dedicated position supports the York Research Center operations, serving as an integral team member of a comprehensive research station.

Responsibilities

• Support multi-crop seed filling, seed preparation, and data collection.
• Operate planting, harvesting, and spray equipment, as well as specialized remote sensing equipment.
• Apply agronomic knowledge of weed control and plot maintenance.
• Collect and assess data quality.
• Assist with experiment planning and mapping.
• Supervise part-time employee crews to complete field activities according to protocols.
• Availability for overtime during peak seasons of planting and harvest.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Associate degree in agriculture or a scientific-related field plus 2-4 years of industry-related experience.
• Keen knowledge of agronomy, crop production, plant development, and experimental field plot design.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and build relationships with a diverse group of people.
• Experience with computers and data management.
• Experience operating planting and harvest equipment, including electronics, GPS systems, and data collection systems.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision, and time management.
• Capability to work in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods.
• Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification.
• Valid driver’s license required.
