The Field Testing Specialist position will serve as an integral team member of a comprehensive research station providing support for all station operations. The ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience about the agriculture industry and a high aptitude for attention to detail What You’ll Do How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you! Support the York Research Center operations with multi crop seed filling, seed preparation and data collection. Skilled in operating planting, harvesting, and spray equipment as well as specialized remote sensing equipment. Agronomic knowledge of weed control and plot maintenance.Collect data and assess data quality.Assist with experiment planning and mapping.Supervise part-time employee crews to complete field activities according to protocols.Availability for overtime during peak seasons of planting and harvest.100% site dedicated position. What You Need Bachelor or Associate degree in agriculture or scientific related field plus 2-4 years industry related experience.Keen knowledge of agronomy, crop production, plant development, and experimental field plot design.Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrate excellent communication/personal interaction skills to foster teamwork, enhance a positive work environment, and effectively develop strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people.Experience and skills with computers and data management.Experience operating planting and harvest equipment including electronics, GPS systems and data collection systems.Demonstrate skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision, and time management.Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification.Valid drivers license required Please note there is no relocation or visa sponsorship available for this position.
