Job Summary
As a FIELD TESTING ASSOCIATE: TEST BUILDING HEALTH (Travel Required), CETEC seeks a science-minded individual to join its environmental testing team. The U.S. hub is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but the role can be fulfilled from several U.S. metropolitan locations with travel requirements.
About the Role
This position involves conducting and reporting on field testing and sampling to optimize occupant health, wellbeing, and performance. Duties include using and maintaining specialized equipment, analyzing data, and preparing reports. The role requires proficiency in communication, data analysis, and adherence to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Understand the scope of works and liaise with clients for site visits.
- Source, prepare, use, and maintain all necessary equipment for fieldwork.
- Collect samples, record measurements, and observe site conditions.
- Diagnose and address site issues, escalating concerns as necessary.
- Accurately record project details, conduct quality control checks, and submit drafts for review.
- Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation and report any issues immediately.
- Assist in broader CETEC projects, taking on additional tasks as assigned.
- Attend required meetings and submit accurate timesheets and expenses.
- Ensure professional conduct and adhere to CETEC’s anti-discrimination policies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve challenges.
- Proficiency in writing clear and concise reports, preferably on fieldwork.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Exceptional attention to methodology, particularly when collecting and processing samples on-site.
- Strong motivation and time-management skills, often working independently on projects.
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in a STEM field related to architecture, engineering, environmental science, or building operations and facilities management.
- LEED and WELL Accredited Professional designation desired.
- Field experience preferred for San Francisco, and required for all other locations.
