Essential Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures
  • Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner
  • Performs the following tasks on basic components in work area including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments
  • Performs preventive maintenance service according to factory guidelines
  • Demonstrates proper use of service information systems
  • Works in field service as experienced Technician as required
  • Adheres to and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures
  • Works independently in the field as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent required
  • Technical training/education preferred
  • A minimum of one (1) year's work experience involving mechanical repairs or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent technical education is required
  • Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills are required

Skills and Competencies

  • Intermediate engine, transmission, hydraulic, electrical diagnostic, and repair skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills

Job Training

  • Area specific technical training
  • OSHA and MSHA required training
  • Vendor technical software (Infocast, Liftnet, SIMSi, etc.)

Safety Summary

  • Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a Lift Truck Service Department shop or on the location of customer job sites.
  • Exposure to physical risk and all-weather conditions is associated with this position.
  • Physical Requirements: Standing, typically on hard surfaces, for extended periods of time is often required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to speak, listen, write, and type effectively
  • Physical Requirements: Reaching, grasping, and stooping
  • Physical Requirements: Kneeling and crawling under equipment
  • Physical Requirements: Climbing ladders and equipment
  • Physical Requirements: Lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.
