About the role
As our FTTH (Fiber to the Home) technician, you will be one of the initial points of contact for our customers, ensuring they experience a seamless installation process and exceed the highest level of customer experience by providing ultra-high-speed internet service.
Responsibilities
- Perform cable testing and documentation for all media types.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic systems and networks.
- Handle optical fiber-related tasks, including cable pulling, suspension, fiber termination, fusion splicing, and testing, following NEC and local regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality service to business and residential customers.
- Document work performed at each customer site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; college or technical/vocational training is a plus.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
- Basic computer and home networking knowledge; experience with electronic audio/video systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in using tools such as drills, cable cutters, and hammer drills.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines, including wearing required PPE.
- Capability to work in various weather and environmental conditions.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to complete tasks neatly and efficiently.
- Ability to interpret prints and follow color-coordinated routing.
- Excellent customer relations and problem resolution skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet, including using ladders and hand climbing utility poles with gaffs.
- Capability to work in confined spaces, including manholes.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds consistently.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
