About the role
RaData, a Protect Environmental Company, is driven by a mission to create healthy, safe, clean, and sustainable indoor environments across the United States. We are looking for a Mitigation Technician in the South Jersey area to install, repair, and maintain radon mitigation systems. This position supports all work in South Jersey for our Flanders location. You will teach customers how to use their equipment, troubleshoot issues, and follow company procedures. Full training programs are offered to ensure your success.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and install radon mitigation systems
- Perform initial walk-through evaluations with customers
- Conduct diagnostics on air flow (pressure field extension tests), generally performed by drilling into concrete/slab foundation
- Install mitigation materials; run pipes for ventilation and install fans
- Occasional installation of roof boots
- Occasional light digging and/or excavation of materials on site
- Post-installation testing and diagnostics of systems
- Represent the company in a professional and positive manner
- Provide great customer service and satisfaction
- Demonstrate to customers how to use the equipment
- Respond quickly to customer problems or issues
- Document job details in accordance with company policy
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1+ years of construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC experience, or building maintenance preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within and meet established deadlines
- Punctual and mechanically inclined
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Clean background, valid driver’s license, and clean driving history
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- NRPP certification for radon mitigation, or ability to obtain this certification within an established timeline upon hire
- Self-starter with a proven track record of working independently
Skills
Ideal candidates should have experience in any of the following trades (not required): Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, General Labor, HVAC.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Operates primarily in a field environment and routinely requires walking, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment
- Requires good physical health and ability to perform hands-on construction work
- Capable of occasionally working in crawl spaces, attics, and on roofs
- Must be able to regularly lift 60 pounds
- Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day
Travel
Daily local travel in a company vehicle is required.
