Field Technician

General Summary Of Position This position is for a telecommunications, structured cabling, and technology Field Service Technician. The job will consist of completing various cable runs, hardware moves, adds, changes and “smart hands” installations for Granite customers, primarily within a 50-mile service area radius. The technician will also be responsible for leading subcontracted crews on larger projects in the area. Company vehicle provided. Technician will directly report to a remote supervisor. Duties And Responsibilities Communicate effectively with the NI team members and departments that schedule each service callComplete basic structured cabling repairs and new installations according to industry standard practicesSmart Hands installations and maintenance with various technology platforms and changing SOW’s Provide all required job and project deliverables within 24 hours or otherwise specified in an SOWKeep company vehicle clean and serviced properlyKeep all materials & tools stocked. Accountability maintained through scheduled inventory counts. Required Qualifications 5-10 years structured cabling experience Ability to tone and test copper wiring / analog dial toneAbility to terminate and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A cablingsAbility to terminate and test Coax cablingAbility to patch and roll fiberLaptop skills (Excel, Putty/Hyper Terminal for ability to allow remote session to engineer / NOC)Basic Networking (Modem Gui’s, Command Prompts, Initiate Remote sessions)Light travelClean Driving Record Preferred Qualifications BICSI CertificationsWireless Knowledge (Ability to utilize Ekahua software)Lift CertifiedOSHA Certifications A+ networking certificationFiber certifications
