Field Technician

About the role

Cyient is seeking a Traveling Field Technician to support our Telecommunications Team in the NE, NW, and SE regions of the United States. This position requires at least 70% travel throughout the U.S. to perform Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom field data collection for multiple customer accounts.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business and property owners, including multi-family residences, to identify yourself and explain your presence on their property.
• Visit multiple job locations daily to record and analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, aerial/underground structures, and street/right-of-way measurements for current or future cell sites.
• Determine ideal locations and conditions for above-ground equipment and fiber optic cables.
• Identify field issues that could improve network designs.
• Collect and submit data using handheld electronic GIS equipment (e.g., IKE, Fulcrum, LiDAR) and other tools.
• Walk one or more miles daily while collecting data.

Requirements

• Permanent U.S. residence address.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel extensively (at least 70% of the time).

Training

Cyient will provide job training on the use of all required electronic equipment, as well as outside plant utility recognition and design.
