Responsibilities

  • Safely install, assemble, align, wire, commission, maintain, and/or repair industrial and aviation-ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Work may include 480V three-phase electrical systems, motors, mechanical drive systems, conveyors, passenger boarding bridges, point-of-use air-conditioning units, ground power units, automatic docking systems (AVDGS) and related heavy aviation equipment
  • Perform hands-on work with mechanical installation and millwright work, electrical controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), circuit boards, and systematic troubleshooting
  • Review and understand technical drawings, identify mechanical and electrical faults
  • Apply working knowledge and experience with mechanical drive systems, electrical systems, lockout/tagout
  • Safely complete field assignments
  • Apply shop mathematics, mechanical principles and precision measurement techniques, electrical calculations
  • Leverage previous experience to help identify solutions to resolve technical construction or equipment installation challenges in the field
  • Safely lift, position and handle tools, materials, and equipment
  • Potentially work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, aerial lifts
  • Safely work in active indoor and outdoor airport environment
  • Support specialty aviation projects nationwide

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical installation and millwright work
  • Experience with electrical controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), circuit boards, and systematic troubleshooting
  • Ability to review and understand technical drawings
  • Working knowledge and experience with mechanical drive systems, electrical systems, lockout/tagout
  • Experience and enjoyment of hands-on work with mechanical elements, working within established tolerances, following specifications and work with high quality within a standard of accuracy
  • Maintain valid driver's license
  • Meet applicable TSA and FAA security requirements
  • Experience with OSHA and required to work in a safe manner adhering to applicable safety regulations and codes

Qualifications

  • Preferred: previous working experience to troubleshoot digital and analog circuits, motor starters, variable frequency drives, sensors, PLC input and output and three-phase motor configurations

Travel

This position has the opportunity to support specialty aviation projects nationwide. This role offers candidates opportunity to live remote with travel to projects at Airports across the United States.
