Field Technician

About the role

Compucom Systems, Inc., delivers end-to-end IT managed services that empower businesses to create a modern digital workplace. We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to provide onsite technical support within a designated geographic area. The Technician will serve as the primary onsite contact for technical and service-related issues, dispatched to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain multiple devices, from network multi-function devices to large format printers, and related photo lab equipment, along with supported infrastructure and equipment installations.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation
• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues with printers, plotters, kiosks, and POS systems
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software
• Perform routine maintenance to optimize equipment performance
• Deliver clear technical assistance to customers onsite and over the phone
• Maintain accurate service records and uphold quality standards
• Collaborate with Level II or Lead Technicians as needed to ensure timely and accurate resolutions

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with Epson print systems is a plus
• Experience repairing laser and wide‑format printers
• Electromechanical experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of printers, computer hardware, and software
• Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Maintain a clean workspace during and after repair
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or in a team
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is between $22.00 and $32.00 per hour, unless the local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
