About the role
If you love working in the field, driving vehicles, interacting with customers, and advancing with ongoing learning opportunities, this Field Technician role at Sparklight (a Cable One brand) offers an extensive training program with both one-on-one and group training classes. You’ll have access to mentors, a company truck, all necessary tools, and uniforms—from hats to boots—to ensure your success.
Responsibilities
- Install customer service drops or outlets in residential and business properties to connect customers to services they love.
- Use electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair reception performance issues, resolving problems from customer equipment to the output of the first distribution amplifier.
- Ensure proper upstream and downstream signal levels at each termination on the customer’s premises.
- Proactively suggest upgrades for existing services and educate customers on their new or existing equipment.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support company goals, brand principles, and organizational values.
Requirements
- A good driving record and a valid driver’s license in the state you are applying.
- Flexibility to work overtime and on-call as needed to meet customer demands.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to present solutions in a positive manner.
- Ability to work in small and confined areas, lift up to 80 lbs., work on a ladder, and perform duties in all weather conditions.
- At least 3 months of customer service or related experience and/or training (equivalent combination of education and experience accepted).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Regular and predictable attendance.

Pay
Total compensation of base pay plus bonus up to $19 an hour (based on national average). Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
