About the role

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Technician to support Central Office network audits, fiber migration, and site exit/decommissioning projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform Central Office/ISP equipment and fiber audits.
• Audit FDF/FDP/FTP panels and individual fiber ports.
• Identify live/inactive fibers using Fiber Traffic Identifier, power meter, VFL, and OTDR.
• Document fiber, circuit, equipment, rack, port, and light-level information in Excel.
• Perform fiber tracing, labeling, decluttering, and pre-wiring for migrations.
• Support network migration and site decommissioning activities.
• Verify circuits before disconnecting to prevent network outages.
• Coordinate with remote engineers through Microsoft Teams.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate issues before taking action.

Requirements

• 5+ years of telecommunications field experience preferred.
• Strong Central Office / ISP experience.
• Experience with fiber audits and distribution panels.
• Hands-on experience with OTDR and optical power meters.
• Strong Excel and documentation skills.
