Field Technician
About the role
Aquila Technology is seeking a Field Technician to support one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The Field Technician will work with an interactive, on-demand parallel computing system that uses large computing clusters to enable researchers to augment the power of desktop systems to process large sets of sensor data, create high-fidelity simulations, and develop entirely new algorithms. The group requires this position to help maintain and support the supercomputing hardware in our Lexington and Holyoke data centers.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot server hardware issues as related to RAM, Hard Drives, Processors, System boards, Power supplies, Network cards etc.
- Familiarity with Dell, HPE, or other commercial enterprise IT equipment
- Experience with iDrac, ilo, Bios, raid config, PXE, remote access
- Proficiency with the installation and repair of servers, switches, PDU’s and vendor RMA work flows
- Install new server hardware or other equipment by racking, cabling, and labeling equipment
- Experience working in a Data Center or Understanding of Data Center fundamentals
- Basic proficiency in Linux/Windows/MAC

- Must Have 1 years Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues
- Must Have 1 years Technical and Desktop Support
- Must Have UNIX platform, OSX, Cisco IOS
Nice to Have
- Must Have Degree Level: Bachelor’s Degree
- Hardware1G – 100G ethernet protocol realization
- Experience with optical communications hardware
- Hardware Accelerators
- Hardware: Intel/AMD, Cisco, Sun/Oracle, Dell, Apple, EMC, NetApp
Qualifications
- Must Have Minimum Experience: 1+ years of technical experience in the industry
- Must Have Reliable transportation – travel 60% to Holyoke, MA

Interview Process
The interview process will begin with an initial telephone screen; advance to video conference and may consist of a panel interview.
Work Location
Hybrid. Assignments may be a combination of on-site and remote place of performance. Must be within 100 miles from Lexington, MA
