Field Survey Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys using conventional and GPS surveying equipment
- Collect, record, and verify accurate measurements, notes, and data in accordance with project specifications
- Aid in the preparation of survey maps, sketches, and reports
- Set up and operate survey instruments, including total stations, levels, and GPS units
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and maintain survey equipment in good working order
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to support design and construction projects
- Travel to various project sites as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering technology, or related field preferred
- 5+ years field surveying experience
- Proficiency with survey instruments and data collection tools
- Knowledge of civil engineering plans and terminology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under varying conditions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAD or survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center)
- Familiarity with GPS and total station technology
- OSHA or construction safety training
