Full time, hourly, non-exempt position on the night shift with rotating weekends.
About the role
Provides support for the installation and configuration of the end-user computing environment, which consists primarily of user workstations (desktop and laptop), printers, and mobile devices. Responsible for providing tier 2 support of the end-user computing environment and asset management of end-user devices. Supports facility coordination associated with adds/moves/changes of end-user devices.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that standard operating procedures and documentation are developed and maintained so that utilization of IT resources and user productivity are maximized.
- Work with vendors to whom installation, configuration, and tier 2 support of portions of the end-user computing environment (e.g., printers) have been outsourced; establish standard operating procedures for vendor personnel and monitor compliance.
- Develop vendor performance metrics and review performance with vendor management on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are developed and followed for asset management of end-user devices, including procurement, inventorying, warranty management, tracking current location, recycling/re-deployment, disposal of obsolete devices, and cleaning (data removal) prior to re-deployment or disposal.
- Assist supervisor in projecting long-range requirements for end-user computing environments in conjunction with other technology services managers and business function managers.
- Keep current on and evaluate new or emerging technologies; recommend new technologies for deployment.
- Assemble annual capital and operating budget requests.

Physical and Environmental Demands
- Occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours.
- Occasional travel to offsite locations.
- Occasional bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional crouching/stooping, driving, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, standing, twisting, and walking (occasional = up to 20%).
- Constant sitting (constant = 51% or more).
