About the role
The Field Supervisor will report to the site’s General Manager, providing support to the Branch’s Field Operations. The Field Supervisor will work in the field to oversee and coordinate the field staff in the safe performance of daily work tasks.
Responsibilities
- Accomplishes daily work goals by leading by example, coaching, and training employees.
- Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
- Conducts training on the job in a one-on-one atmosphere as well as executes group training.
- Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures specific to each jobsite, spill, or emergency response.
- Creates worksheets for billing that accurately reflect time, materials, rentals, disposal, and other billable items.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
- Completes operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.
- Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, monitoring variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs labor-intensive activities in all-weather conditions throughout the shift.
- Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights.
- Operates lights and heavy equipment including skid skeeters, forklifts, and pressure washers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 5 years of experience as a HAZWOPER/Environmental technician, or 3 years of experience as a HAZWOPER/Environmental technician with an additional 2 years of supervisory experience in another industry.
- Proficient with Fleetio or related software to complete reports and logs.
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Thorough understanding of equipment and operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance for heavy-duty tanker equipment and other commercial vehicles.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to wear PPE and respirators.
- Ability to work under adverse conditions (heat and cold).
