Field Supervisor

Overview

ByVerTek is seeking a Telecom Field Supervisor to oversee and coordinate daily telecom field operations related to fiber optic construction. This role involves field leadership, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and regulations.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and coordinate daily telecom construction activities for aerial, underground, and splicing crews.
• Oversee field personnel and subcontractors to ensure safe and productive work practices.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the company during site walks, pre-construction meetings, inspections, and project closeout activities as required.
• Provide timely updates regarding project status, risks, and field conditions.
• Ensure construction quality and accuracy of work performed.
• Manage verification and true-up of unit quantities.
• Support project closeout documentation and reporting requirements.
• Provide coordination and oversight to assigned field personnel and subcontractors.
• Reinforce company policies, safety expectations, and performance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-3 years of telecom or OSP FTTH construction experience with field leadership responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of telecom construction practices and safety standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
• Proficiency with computers, tablets, and digital reporting tools.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean record (will operate company vehicle).

Preferred Experience

• Experience with fiber optic construction and splicing operations.
• Proficiency using project management or construction tracking software.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Smartsheets.
• Working knowledge of CAPM, PMP or similar project management certifications.
• Warehouse operations experience (inventory, security).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to safely navigate active construction environments.
• Capability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of normal field activities.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching during inspections and site supervision.
• Visual acuity sufficient to read construction drawings, maps, and digital displays.
• Manual dexterity required to operate tools, equipment, and computer devices.
• Ability to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, gloves, and protective eyewear.
