This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a criminal background check.
Pay
$5,100 – $6,373 per month ($61,200 – $76,476 annually).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus four years of professional social-services experience.
- Substitution of Education for Experience: additional graduate coursework in any social/behavioral science may substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis, up to two years (e.g., 36 graduate quarter-hours = one year of experience).
- Substitution of Experience for Education: four years of professional social-services work with the State of Tennessee.
- Must complete a criminal-history disclosure form, release all records to the appointing authority, and supply fingerprints as prescribed by the TBI.
About the Role
This classification performs professional supervisory work of average difficulty, overseeing front-line staff who deliver vocational, educational, human, or social services. It differs from the Field Supervisor 1 role by supervising work of greater scope and complexity.
Responsibilities
- Provides cognitive/behavioral services to clients to eliminate or mitigate maladaptive behaviors that may interfere with employment.
- Oversees delivery of basic therapy to address daily personal issues and improve quality of life.
- Develops objectives and strategies to implement services in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Oversees workflow and processing of all assigned work in a children’s or human-services program within an assigned region; reviews daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accuracy, progress, and compliance.
- Investigates, responds to, and resolves complaints and disputes among staff, customers, and other sources through mediation, discussions, or other problem-solving techniques.
- Oversees implementation of vendor contracts to monitor compliance with state and federal indicators; solicits new vendor services as needed.
- Distributes staff assignments based on program needs to equalize workload and ensure appropriate office and field coverage.
- Explains and interprets departmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure consistency of information.
- Provides recommendations for future actions based on completed case reviews to improve services.
- Communicates with the state’s attorney to provide case information and records; may provide court testimony to ensure compliance with laws.
- Promotes children’s or human-services programs to the public, organizations, advisory boards, and committees through dissemination of current information.
- Communicates with community service providers to ensure effective service delivery to clients.
