Field Specialist, Night

This position assumes responsibility for monitoring and optimization of all production process variables, ensuring that all production equipment operates at peak reliability and efficiency, and acquiring and storing data. The schedule is 14/14 (Residential or Rotational), dedicated to working night shift only.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports Health, Environment, and Safety processes by:
    • Accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies
    • Carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner
    • Following safe operating practices as described in the S&TB Control of Work
    • Maintaining a safe working environment
    • Being prepared to respond to environmental or safety events
  • Operates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains oil and gas production equipment
  • Responds to Environmental, Safety, & Production concerns for both New Development and Legacy Base Routes
  • Performs duties associated with oil and gas producing operations, including but not limited to:
    • Gas Lift Systems and High Pressure Gas Lift Systems
    • Rod pumping and flowing wells
    • Dehydrators (Dehy’s) and compressors
    • Optimizing artificial lift systems
    • Testing wells and acquiring fluid-level information
    • Record keeping and data input
    • Monitoring computer control systems
    • Testing safety devices
    • Operating and monitoring SCADA
  • Partners with employees and contractors to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency
  • Utilizes a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritization
  • Ensures all work adheres to Chevron’s Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates Chevron Way behavior

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of current related experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on workload

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years’ current related experience in Shale and Tight unconventional oil and gas operations
  • Familiarity with reliability efforts for safety, environmental, and production-related issues
  • Familiar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facility equipment
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CMMS, SCADA, and aptitude for learning new software
  • Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal/external customers
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work with minimal supervision
