About the role
Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is seeking a field services technician to assist and support other team members in commissioning and after-sales service. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be a registered apprentice in Electrical or HVAC, and possess a valid passport/driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Check in with Manager after the end of each workday while in the Field
- Complete all company provided forms to the fullest extent possible during and/or at the end of each day/job
- Responsible for completing daily scheduled tasks
- Check in with client at the beginning and end of each day and obtain client signature on company provided forms where applicable
- Use Time Clocks in the plant and ADP app when in the Field to account for daily times
- Hand in paperwork at the end of each trip for processing in sequential order
- Avoid using excess materials for each job and document them properly
- Assist on job sites with other JCI/Silent-Aire Field Technicians as needed
- Answer all office emails/calls in a timely manner
- Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required
- Report all warranty repairs to the Manager or Field Supervisor and provide the necessary info needed to report back to the plant if it is a Silent-Aire internal issue
- Consult Manager or Field Supervisor in times of uncertainty
- Give training to Field Service Technician – Level 1 and support as needed
- Follow all company policies and lead by example
- Maintain all safety equipment at all times
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
- Must be a registered apprentice in Electrical or HVAC
- Must be willing to travel up to 70%
- Must have full understanding of basic electrical and control systems and how electricity works as well as the process of treating air to simultaneously control its temperature, humidity, and distribution
- Must have general knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems
- Must understand 3-phase versus single phase wiring, parallel and series circuits, Ohm's Law, and be able to use a multi-meter to read voltage, resistance values
- Must be able to read, understand, and work from mechanical drawings
- Must be able to maintain required records and prepare reports
- Must possess valid passport/driver’s license
- Must possess aptitude and communications skills related to acting independently
- Must have technical and working knowledge of internal and industry design and construction codes and standards
- Must have proven planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, supplemented with a practical aptitude
- Must have experience working in Industrial, Manufacturing Facilities and/or Field environments
- Must have basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Preferred
- Registered refrigeration/HVAC tech, controls tech, Electrician Journeyman, or related tradesperson
- Experience working in highly sensitive and/or mission critical facilities
Additional Details
- Must be able to drive to local job site locations
- On-call and overtime hours as needed
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
- Must be able to pass a DOD background check, requiring proof of US Citizenship
- Willingness to travel to customer locations (domestic and international)
- This is a safety-sensitive position
- Company uniform is required
- Good hygiene and cleanliness are required at all times
