Field Services Technician 2

About the role

The IT Support Technician will provide comprehensive IT support for end users at customer sites throughout Virginia and the surrounding areas. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, providing technical assistance, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical / IT support for Commonwealth of Virginia
• Perform routine maintenance on customer's assets
• Resolve all IT issues in a timely manner
• Execute system updates, ticketing, and asset management
• Offer break/fix software & hardware support (including OEM-certified warranty repair)
• Manage asset disposal activities
• Train on new products and services
• Support end users remotely via remote administration tools and onsite/desk-side support
• Configure end user devices
• Imaging of Commonwealth devices
• Collaborate with vendors to provide technical insight
• Support Windows 10/11 & MAC operating systems, software/application support, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, system restorations, etc.
• Provide after hours and weekend support as needed

Requirements

• High School plus advanced training and 2+ years of experience
• Experience with system imaging and deployment of workstations, laptops, and related hardware
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic break/fix hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (RAM, HDD/SSD, batteries)
• Experience performing basic network troubleshooting
• Experience performing password resets using Active Directory
• Self-driven problem solver with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box
• Communicates complex technical issues clearly and professionally to end users
• Collaborative team player who brings empathy and a customer-focused mindset
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Passes VA State Police and Department of Corrections background checks

Compensation and Benefits Information

The salary range for this position is $19-24/hr. This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs. Iron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities.
