Field Service Technician - Southwest
About the role
As the Field Service Technician, you will perform and carry out all tasks related to installing, assembling, servicing, and repairing Aerzen products. You will provide customers with prompt, professional, and high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Performs startups, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and/or preventive maintenance service on all Aerzen products at customer sites.
- Represent Aerzen in a professional and courteous manner, following all Aerzen and customer safety requirements.
- Installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital).
- Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections.
- Analyzing and correcting communication issues; properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications.
- Perform repairs and assembly on Aerzen products; disassemble; assess damage and evaluate failures on machines; diagnose problems with Aerzen machines by evaluating material condition and asking the customer questions; demonstrate the ability to offer machine-based recommendations; can identify the root cause of a machine failure; utilize defined procedures and a standard rebuild kit.
- Read, understand and use equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other process documentation to perform service tasks, assembly and repairs on Aerzen products.
- Communicate with customers to discuss job requirements, provide recommendations and service options, listen to customer concerns, and provide status updates during service calls and at completion.
- Evaluate customer future needs and communicate information through appropriate channels.
- Assist engineering in plant design, modifications and hazard analysis.
- Plan and schedule travel to best meet customer requirements, service schedule requirements and time efficiency utilizing the Concur booking tool.
- Complete job-related service reports, expense reports and forms in a timely basis; collect data and make commissioning graphs using Company Software.
- Complete written repair reports to document cause of failure, description of work performed, materials consumed, condition of equipment as received and as returned to the customer.
- Conduct customer training on Aerzen products when onsite.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Participate in departmental initiatives such as, but not limited to, inventory counts, shop organization, clean-up and other duties assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree (2 years schooling) in electronics technology or equivalent experience.
- 1-4 years of field service experience with rotary equipment such as compressors, pumps or similar. Must have electrical experience, preferably working with VFDs and controls.

- Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred
- RS Logix 5000 experience is preferred
- PLC or similar Ladder-Logic programming experience is desired
- Ability to interpret process flow, control wiring, as well as piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Welding (brazing, cutting, welding, plasma) a plus

Pay
The pay range for this position is $XX - $YY per hour.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with some weekend availability as needed.
