Field Service Technician - Relocation Assistance Available

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Support both in-house system builds and customer service activities, helping install, debug, and maintain custom automation systems.
• Aid with installation, startup, and service support at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with PLC, HMI, robotics, motion, and vision systems.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
• Gain hands-on experience with advanced automation technologies.

Technical Scope

• Experience with a wide range of industrial automation technologies and platforms, including:
• Controls & Automation: PLC/HMI platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• Industrial Networks: EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus
• Robotics & Vision: Industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA), Vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)
• Systems Integration: Electrical troubleshooting, panel systems, and field wiring
• Pneumatics and Mechanical Systems
• Integration of Peripherals and Custom Equipment

Minimum Skills & Abilities

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, machine tools, automation, service, or related technical fields.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable using basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Willingness to learn controls, robotics, and related automation systems technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable interacting with customers onsite and remotely as needed.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel (~10% - 30%).

Preferred Experience

• OEM machine build or field service experience.
• Exposure to PLCs, robotics, HMI’s, and/or vision systems.
• Maintenance or automation technician background.

Minimum Education & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, machine tools, automation, service, or related technical fields.
