About the role
Support customers with Amada Punch Presses in the Long Island, NY territory, including installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. Duties extend to Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems, and networks.
- Perform repairs, installations, basic operations, and maintenance of Amada press brakes and punch presses.
- Follow layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
- Complete daily service reports and weekly expense reports.
- Maintain excellent customer relations and follow-through.
- Manage the total equipment installation process at customer sites, including use of hand tools, climbing, bending, and stooping.
- Provide operation, application, software, and part programming training to customers.
- Use Amada applications software for line control and part programming.
- Travel routinely within assigned territories, with occasional overnight stays.
- Lift up to 50 lbs as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of a 2-year degree with related work experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and oscilloscope.
- Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong accountability and responsibility for customer service and support.
- Strong electrical and mechanical experience.
Travel
- Routine travel within assigned territories (Hempstead, NY; Long Island, NY) with occasional overnight stays.
- Travel anywhere in the Northeast for machine training.
- Assigned training outside the Northeast when necessary.
- Significant overnight travel during the first few years until customer needs in Long Island are managed.
- Openness to travel anywhere within the United States at the beginning of the career.
Pay
$30.00 per hour.
