About the role

This position will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Mechanical experience is required, along with knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. The role includes identifying new business opportunities and contributing to customer relationship development and market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician, including operating and inspecting cranes to diagnose defects
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
  • Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
  • Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Accomplishes tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Maintains conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations
  • Properly fills out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, work orders, and other company and customer paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
  • Completes expense reports in a timely manner as dictated by company policy
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends; travel is required periodically for 1 to 4-day intervals for field technicians
  • Shop technicians work 40 to 50 hours a week depending on immediate needs; field technicians work 40 to 80 hours a week depending on customer needs
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions; CDL preferred

Qualifications

Preferred experience includes working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically:

  • Grove RT and TMS Cranes
  • Grove GMK European Cranes
  • Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, etc.
