About the role

Bartelt Packaging, a ProMach Company, provides best-in-class solutions for pouching and cartoning systems for the food and confectionery, beverage, home and personal care, pharmaceutical, chemical, and tobacco markets. As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to repair, maintain, and start-up specified Bartelt Packaging equipment, serving as a communication link between the customer and the company to provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, integration, repair, and troubleshoot flexible machinery of complex design requiring high-level technical skill and independent problem-solving.
  • Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met.
  • Direct or oversee customer personnel during plant machinery installations, integrations, or servicing (repair and/or troubleshooting).
  • Provide on-site customization of machine programs by revising programs to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a 24-hour on-call status occasionally and provide customer technical telephone support.
  • Provide factory floor support when not traveling for customer field service.
  • Train customers on the operation and service of machinery.
  • Assist customers with aftermarket parts needs while in the field.

Requirements

  • Technical Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in machinery repair.
  • Knowledge and skills in mechanical principles.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and occasionally internationally.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus.
  • Proficiency in Windows and MS software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to train customer personnel on equipment.
  • Preferred experience in flexible packaging material machinery.
  • PLC programming experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLC/PC systems helpful.
