About the role
To perform service (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades, and refurbishment) on equipment at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager's instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades, and refurbishment) on equipment including forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders, and hoists
- Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices, and environmental requirements
- Stay up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and complete technical courses as instructed by District Service Manager
- Respond to customer queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction and follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
- Keep adequate records, maintain documentation, and submit daily reports in the specified format
- Recognize sales opportunities and communicate them to the District Service Manager
- Coach and tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
- Conduct yourself in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card
- Valid driver’s license with no more than one moving violation in the last year or two violations within a two-year time frame (all violations will be reviewed)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical operations
- Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Own required tools
- Know, understand, and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
