Responsibilities
- Support Field Service Technician - IVA I & II employees through mentoring and on-the-job (OJT) training
- Performs final quality inspection of valve and/or equipment
- Potentially assumes role as Field Supervisor
- Repairs, services, maintains, removes, troubleshoots, inspects, and replaces GGC style valves
- Collects data and documents and prepares detailed reports for customer review, billing records, and expense reporting
- Assumes responsibility and handles multiple tasks under potentially stressful and hazardous conditions
- Operates motor vehicle, as required
- Attends job and safety training, as necessary or required
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus; Associates degree preferred; 5 or more years of industry experience; Minimum of 3 to 5 years of gate, globe, and check valve experience; Previous experience operating machine equipment
- Skills & Abilities: Meets all IVA Technician I & II qualifications and requirements; Proficient in IVA Technician I & II responsibilities; Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures; Completed QC assessment; Experienced trainer of IVA Technicians; Level I & II; Working knowledge and proficiency of leading manufacturer GGC valve lines; Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required); Ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment; Ability to manage people; Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and other employees; Ability to prepare detailed reports and correspondence that are clear and intelligible; Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills; Customer driven/focused; Team oriented and willing to lead others; High energy, detail oriented; Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings/prints and procedure manuals; Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected; Ability to work independently and/or in team assignments; Strong safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practices; and Strong history of dependability and reliability
- Supervision: Works mostly autonomously with little supervision; Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Lifting: up to 50 pounds
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
- Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
- Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
- Able to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Operating machinery and/or power tools
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
