Field Service Technician - Installer

About the role

Conduct site surveys of customer locations to ensure a successful install of Hamilton products. Troubleshoot and install large scale automated freezers, air compressors and dryers. Identify, analyze, and repair product failures. Order and replace parts as needed. Research and answer customer questions about product features, issues, and upgrades. Perform start up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of product.

Responsibilities

  • Has solid knowledge of the organization’s products and services.
  • Performs customer user training.
  • Contributes to the R&D aspects of projects by presenting the install perspective.
  • Provide on-site install, repairs, and quality checks.
  • Provide remote support via phone, e-mail, and computer.
  • Clearly and accurately complete documentation on time.
  • Installer travel is roughly 50+% domestic travel.
  • Regular commute to and from customer sites with ability to navigate within the region.
  • Must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring on-time arrival at customer site.
  • Understand the system. Mechanically, electronically, sensors, motors, power distribution, configurations, backups, etc.
  • Comfortable in confined spaces and still able to be aware of the environment.
  • Comfortable working around live and wired systems.

  • Able to read schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Have excellent communication skills, which are appropriate for a customer-facing role.
  • Be hardworking and enthusiastic with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be capable of working independently with limited direction as well as in a team.
  • Be capable of working under pressure without compromise.
  • Must have the ability to manage and meet schedule commitments.
  • Must be able to travel frequently and be flexible, subject to Business requirements.
  • Willingness to work additional hours and the flexibility to work overtime as and when required.

Requirements

  • Position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent professional experience-based knowledge or certification. A degree or working towards a degree is an advantage.
  • Experience in automation or similar is essential.
  • Experience working with customers in the life science/clinical/pharmaceutical field would also be an advantage.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $30.00 to $40.00 per Hour. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, specialized skills, and professional qualifications.

Schedule

Regular commute to and from customer sites with ability to navigate within the region. Must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring on-time arrival at customer site.
