Field Service Technician II- Power Generation (AMS)
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Represents the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values.
- Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
- Repairs and maintains electric generators, switchgear, electronic controls, diesel and gas engines including LPG.
- Performs field service, repairs and installation of customers’ equipment.
- Operates Company service vehicle and applicable equipment to include lift trucks.
- Might be requested at times to perform in-shop service or repairs on customers’ equipment when applicable.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses customer complaints to determine the most effective or efficient repair using test equipment, electronic volt-ohm meter, megometer, battery and starting analyzer, load banks, and trade tools.
- Performs routine Level 1, 2 and 3 scheduled maintenance and inspection according to manufacturer’s specification including removal of generator/engine set for repair or replacement.
- Hooks up rental generators following all applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations and safety guidelines.
- Inspects, repairs, services and start-up load bank test requirements on equipment.
- Troubleshoots equipment and services generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems.
- Applies proper engine technical skills in inspection, disassembly, assembly, diagnosis, and engine operating performance tests.
- Identifies the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps, determines corrective action through inspection of failed parts.
- Repairs and troubleshoots engines such as Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU, Volvo, Cat and Waukesha.
- Provides basic leadership and training to new Field Technicians.
- Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Be available to participate in on-call rotation for after-hour calls as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ power generation field service work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
- Possess a well-rounded knowledge of engine, generator, and operations; experience with Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat considered an asset.
- Highly motivated and well organized.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clean drivers abstract must be provided at time of hire.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and adverse outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
- Nearby major market: Marietta.
