About the role

This position involves diagnosing and performing repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The role requires adherence to safety policies, completion of required training, and maintaining a neat, efficient work environment. Technicians are expected to maximize parts reuse to control costs and document repairs using appropriate software.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all work safely, adhering to safety, environmental, and contamination control policies.
  • Maintain and use a necessary set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Perform repairs on equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect components to maximize parts reuse and control repair costs.
  • Complete required documentation for repairs and account for repair times using appropriate software.
  • Monitor job expenses versus estimates and notify supervisors of cost overruns.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to team efforts while meeting safety and quality expectations.
  • Train and mentor others in the department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of all required training to be designated as a Service Field Tech II.
  • Ability to comprehend written material and communicate effectively with employees and customers.

  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Balancing, stooping, crawling, pushing/pulling/lifting over 50 lbs.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours/day): Sitting.

Environmental Conditions

  • Frequently (3-6 hours/day): Outside environmental conditions, extreme heat (above 100°F), noise requiring shouting, vibration, hazards (e.g., moving parts, electrical current, high places, chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation), exposure to oils.
  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Extreme cold (below 32°F), inside conditions, air particulates/contaminants requiring respirator use.
